Reception is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 4:30 pm. The rooms are closed on weekends and public holidays.
If you call outside these hours, please leave a message and a member of the team will return your call on the next business day. You can also email [email protected].
Yes. As a specialist, Dr Roth requires a referral for all new patient appointments. A referral from your GP is valid for 12 months from the date of your first consultation with Dr Roth. A referral from another specialist is valid for three months.
You are welcome to book an appointment before you have obtained the referral, but a valid referral must be provided at or before the consultation.
A new patient consultation is typically 30 to 45 minutes. Cosmetic consultations generally run closer to 45 minutes, as they include a detailed discussion of goals, examination, photography where appropriate, and a review of options. Please allow additional time for paperwork and any diagnostic assessments that may be required on the day.
Waiting times vary depending on the nature of the concern and the type of consultation. Urgent ENT referrals are generally accommodated within a short timeframe; routine consultations, including cosmetic consultations, may involve a longer wait. When you call to book, reception can advise on current availability.
Please bring:
- Your referral letter (if not already sent through by your GP)
- Your Medicare card and any private health insurance details
- A list of current medications, including supplements
- Any relevant imaging (CT scans, MRI, ultrasound) or previous specialist correspondence
- A list of questions you would like to discuss
For cosmetic consultations, you are welcome to bring photographs of yourself from earlier years or images that help illustrate your goals. These are used as a reference point for discussion, not as a guarantee of any particular outcome.
Telehealth is available for selected follow-up appointments where a physical examination is not required. New patient consultations are conducted in person, as a full clinical assessment is an essential part of the initial appointment. If telehealth is appropriate for your follow-up, reception will arrange this at the time of booking.
We ask that you provide at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows the appointment to be offered to another patient. A cancellation fee may apply for appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, or for non-attendance without prior notification.
Consultation fees depend on the nature of the appointment — medical ENT consultations and cosmetic consultations are charged at different rates. A full fee schedule is provided by reception at the time of booking, so you have clear information about costs before you attend.
Medicare rebates are available for medically indicated ENT consultations where a valid referral is in place. The rebate covers a portion of the consultation fee, with an out-of-pocket gap payable on the day.
Purely cosmetic consultations and procedures do not attract Medicare rebates and are not covered by private health insurance. Some procedures with both a functional and cosmetic component — for example, septorhinoplasty where there is documented nasal airway obstruction — may attract a partial Medicare rebate; this is assessed on an individual basis.
Private health insurance may cover the hospital and anaesthetic components of medically indicated surgery, depending on your level of cover and any applicable waiting periods. Cosmetic procedures are generally not covered. Reception can provide the relevant item numbers so you can check with your fund before committing to a procedure.

If you are a post-operative patient with an urgent concern and cannot reach the rooms, please attend your nearest hospital emergency department. In a life-threatening emergency, call 000.
A consultation letter is sent to your referring doctor after each appointment as standard. If you require a copy of your records, a specific letter for employment, travel, or insurance purposes, or a medical certificate, please contact reception. Some requests may incur an administrative fee.
