Dr Roth is a Specialist Otolaryngologist and Head and Neck Surgeon with fellowship training in rhinology and facial plastic surgery. He sees both paediatric and adult patients. His practice covers two areas:
How to Refer
A GP referral is required for Medicare rebates to apply to the specialist consultation fee. Referrals can be directed to Dr Roth at the Dee Why consulting rooms. A referral letter by email or fax is appreciated but patients may also present with a handwritten referral.
Direct Contact for Colleagues
Dr Roth is readily available to discuss patients with referring GPs and specialist colleagues. Please call the rooms directly — staff are instructed to put through calls from medical professionals immediately. On operating days, calls will be returned between cases or at the end of the list.

Medicare Rebates
Many of the procedures Dr Roth performs attract Medicare rebates where documented clinical indications are met. This includes septoplasty, turbinate reduction, sinus surgery, grommets, tonsillectomy, and upper blepharoplasty with visual field impairment. Rhinoplasty and other facial plastic surgery procedures for cosmetic indications do not attract Medicare rebates. Where functional and cosmetic concerns coexist, the functional components may be rebatable and this is discussed with patients at consultation.
For cosmetic surgery referrals, a GP referral is still recommended even though no rebate applies — it assists Dr Roth in understanding the patient’s medical history and any relevant comorbidities before the first consultation.
